When it comes to choosing the right hearing care experts in Southcentral Alaska, you have some great options to choose from.
There are many different clinics, groups and ways to purchase hearing aids, which means that we often receive phone calls asking what is the difference between us and others.
Two of the common names that we’re asked to compare ourselves to is Northern Hearing Services and Audiology Associates.
Though there are a few similarities between us, in this article, we want to share the six reasons why many local people decide that we’re the right hearing care experts for them.
So, as well as us…
- Having Doctors of Audiology on-site
- Operating a medically-focussed practice
- Offering comprehensive hearing assessments
- Offering tailored hearing aids
- Offering a comprehensive follow-up care service
Here are the other ways in which we are different and why people choose to come to us.
#1 – We’re Community-Focused
The Anchorage & Eagle River community is everything to us.
Through our Alaska Hears program, we’ve made it our mission to help local businesses to screen their employees free of charge.
We also regularly run local events, partner with local charities, and do all we can to raise awareness for healthy hearing.
#2 – We Offer Remote Audiology & Hearing Aid Servicing
When the pandemic hit in 2020, Hearing Care Practices were among the many businesses that needed to adapt in order to keep offering care in the safest way.
Alaska Hearing & Tinnitus Center was already offering these services, which allowed us to have no lapse in our patient’s care, such as:
- Telehealth appointments, where patients can enjoy their appointment from their homes, either on the phone or via Zoom-like programming in our electronic health record system (which is HIPAA compliant).
- We introduced our Curbside service, which allows our patients to receive treatment from the safety of their own car.
To our knowledge, we are the only group of hearing care practices in Anchorage and Eagle River to offer these services.
#3 – We Are Full-Service Tinnitus Management Experts
Tinnitus is one of the most common symptoms of a hearing loss, and a large number of the patients we serve suffer with it, which is why we have taken great care to specialize in it.
Our audiologists are trained to utilize a variety of treatment methods that are individualized to each patient, which has earned us the reputation as Alaska’s most trusted hearing and tinnitus experts.
We are the only Audiologist in the state, at this time, testing, measuring and therefore managing our patients’ tinnitus issues.
Just because a website lists the word ‘tinnitus’ in their services, doesn’t mean they are measuring it or addressing it, which is not tinnitus management.
#4 – We’re Trusted By Local Physicians
Hearing care is a critical element in your overall health care. Because of our high-level of expertise in audiology, we are trusted partners with local physicians who refer patients to us and consult with us when they need our input from our area of expertise.
The road goes both ways. We also benefit by taking advantage of their input and expertise, ensuring that your hearing is a critical consideration of your overall wellness.
#5 – We Offer Cochlear Implant Treatments
Our expertise stretches far beyond hearing aids. Our Doctor of Audiology, Emily E McMahan and her resident, Maytal Slattery has recently completed training and are qualified to offer our patients Cochlear Implants.
This allows us to further help patients that have a severe-to-profound hearing loss.
There now really isn’t a hearing loss we can’t provide services for!
As one of the only Cochlear Implant Providers in Southcentral Alaska, you can be confident that we’re continually pushing the envelope to deliver the highest level of care to patients.
#6 – We’re Award-Winning Audiologists
With multiple award wins, the most recent being the 2020 Best of Alaska award given to us by Anchorage Daily News, we are so proud to work with thousands of delighted patients and many physicians throughout Alaska that trust us as their hearing care experts.
We truly feel incredibly fortunate to care for this community.
