And Our ‘Hear for the Holidays’ Winner is…

The whole team is happy to announce that the winner of its seasonal competition, “Hear for the Holidays,” is Wayde Carroll!

Back in November, we asked locals to nominate someone in need of hearing support. Our team then voted for the person who they felt most deserved the gift of hearing.

They based their decisions on the touching stories that friends and loved ones shared about nominees with Alaska Hearing & Tinnitus Center. And this year, unanimously, they picked Wayde Carroll as their winner.

Many people have had a tough year, but Wayde has dealt with more than most. He was a caregiver to his wife for many years, and sadly, she recently lost her battle with cancer.

Unfortunately, his business also collapsed due to the pandemic and the support that he needed to provide to his wife during this period.

He was in great need of hearing assistance, and everyone at the clinic was so pleased to provide him with a pair of state-of-the-art hearing aids as he begins to rebuild his life.

Giving back to our community is part of our mission at the clinic, and it’s our honor to be able to provide someone in need with the gift of hearing.

Dr. Emily E McMahan

Dr. McMahan attended the University of Cincinnati where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2009. She furthered her professional education by obtaining her Doctorate of Audiology from Salus University in Philadelphia in 2013. She completed her residency in Anchorage and has been applying her expertise to her patients in the Pacific Northwest for several years. Whether you need hearing testing, hearing aids, or assistance with managing tinnitus in your daily lives, Dr. McMahan is qualified to assist you!
